Non-Compete Agreement

A Non-compete Agreement is a clause in a contract that prevents one party from competing with another party for a specific amount of time.

In the context of franchising a non-compete clause prohibits the franchisee from joining a competitor in the same industry or starting a new business that competes with the franchisor within a designated area for a specified period of time.
